The Waves of the Reef
This is a brief insight into waves of our ocean and how these waves can spell disaster or life for a reef.

The waves are just a symbol of whats really happening within the sea. They are end result of currents and tidal shifts that power the oceans water across the globe.

The reason why reefs are so full of life is becaise of the currents. They bring nutrients from across the seas onto the reef, which in turn supports micro organisms and thus starting the food chain.

However this is not the only way the reefs rely on currents. Air and water are mixed as the waves crash down, allowing oxygen to inbune the reef. Many corals rely on this current in the same way as plants rely on the wind... to spread their seed across the ocean floor and proporgate itself.

It is our hope to simulate the waves in our tank, as corals react well to varying levels of current in alternating directions. This can be created with the use of several powerheads on an alternating pattern.
